SF AFA Quality Self Assessment Tools

The SF Afterschool for All effort has TWO Quality Self-Assessment Tools, one for afterschool and one for summer programs. These tools are specially designed to help out of school time programs across the city create a common language and approach to continually improving program quality.

The afterschool tool is aligned with the statewide California After-School Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool, and was used to inform the SF Afterschool for All Core Competencies. Each competency is linked to a corresponding section of the QSA tool.

Afterschool Program Quality Self Assessment Tool
This tool is for afterschool programs at community-based sites (or those not based at school sites). It was developed by DCYF in partnership with the 2009-10 AFA Program Quality Work Group. This QSA is also aligned with DCYF’s Minimum Quality Standards for Out of School Time Programs, originally developed in 2005.
