It’s not too late to register for Bridging the
Bay! The fourth annual conference
will be held this year on February 1st and 2nd at Bret
Harte Middle School in Oakland, California (parking is available, and it is
accessible by public transit). The Bridging the Bay conference is held
annually for afterschool line staff, program coordinators and managers. This is
a unique opportunity to share best practices with our partners across the Bay,
and expand on AFA commitment to professional development. This year’s
conference has an exciting line-up of presenters, workshops and performers.
Michael Funk, director of the Afterschool Division at the Ca Department
of Education, will keynote the conference and talk about the future of
afterschool in California. There will be workshops on afterschool and
school day alignment, STEM, STEAM, the core competencies, behavior management
and much more. This year will also include a new older youth track, for middle
and high school programs. Conference attendees can expect to leave with new
ideas, connections and tools they can start using right away. Please share the
conference information with your coworkers and colleagues.
Please visit the Bridging the
Bay website for regular
updates about the conference. We will see you there!
